Growth in Korea's ETF Market and Achievements of FnGuide and Hana Asset Management

Korea's Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) market is experiencing rapid growth, prompting significant changes in the index industry. FnGuide has surpassed a net asset value of 31 trillion won, accounting for 11% of the entire market. Its operating profit for the third quarter increased by 36.19% year-on-year, amounting to 2.69 billion won. This achievement is attributed to the company's focus on reflecting the actual business contribution of companies in its thematic index design and leveraging AI for thematic exploration.
Moreover, Hana Asset Management has shown remarkable growth following its separation from UBS. Under the leadership of CEO Kim Tae-Woo, net assets of ETFs surged by sixfold to reach 2 trillion won within two years. The '1Q Money Market Active ETF' exceeded the 1 trillion won benchmark in just 13 months post-launch, and the '1Q US S&P 500 ETF', known for its industry-low fees, reached 50 billion won within three months. Its newly launched bond hybrid ETFs are also attracting significant investor interest, underpinning Hana's robust growth. Additionally, Hana Asset Management is solidifying its unique market position with thematic ETFs like '1Q US Medical AI', '1Q Xiaomi Value Chain', and '1Q K-Sovereign ETF'.
