A new book titled '34 Secrets of Leveraged ETFs That YouTubers Never Tell You' offers a comprehensive guide to understanding the structure, risks, practical strategies, and hidden costs of leveraged and inverse ETFs. Despite rapid growth in the Korean ETF market, there have been few specialist publications that balance both the technical mechanisms and risk factors of such products. This book aims to fill that gap, using 34 key questions to provide investors with practical insights into leveraged and inverse ETF operations.
Meanwhile, recent volatility in the Japanese stock market prompted Korean investors to increasingly allocate funds to inverse ETFs linked to Japanese equities. Notably, Nomura's 'NEXT FUNDS Nikkei 225 Double Inverse ETF' attracted $7.36 million from Korean investors, ranking as the top purchased ETF as the Nikkei 225 fell more than 10% in the past month. At the same time, there has been an outflow from domestic inverse ETFs in Korea, with renewed interest in leveraged ETFs among local individual investors. While the long-term outlook for Japanese equities remains positive, strategic responses to short-term fluctuations are gaining attention.
