Rising Trends in Global ETF Markets
Samsung Asset Management has launched the 'KODEX China AI Semiconductor TOP10' ETF, focusing on investment in China's AI semiconductor industry. The ETF targets the growth opportunities presented by China's semiconductor localization efforts and AI infrastructure expansion, including companies listed in mainland China and Hong Kong. Its portfolio is constructed by considering market capitalization and thematic similarity scores, with regular rebalancing conducted quarterly. Amid heightened military tensions between the U.S., Israel, and Iran, investors are strategically repositioning their portfolios by aggressively investing in artificial intelligence and semiconductors, while also purchasing energy and defense stocks to hedge against geopolitical risks. The SOXL ETF, which follows the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index, emerged as a top-purchased fund, with energy sector ETFs and defense stocks like Lockheed Martin also ranking high in acquisitions. This indicates a growing interest among investors to navigate market volatility with an assertive outlook. In addition, domestic retirement pension accounts are seeing significant interest in semiconductor and KOSDAQ-related ETFs in anticipation of rising demand for AI and server semiconductors. Mirae Asset Securities' 'TIGER Semiconductor TOP10' and 'KODEX Samsung Electronics Bond Mix' have recorded strong buying activity. Conversely, American long-term bond ETFs are experiencing capital outflows due to lackluster returns.
