Analysis of ETF and Stock Market Trends in Secondary Battery Sector
Individual investors who had bet on the rise of secondary battery stocks in the first half of the year are now betting on a decline due to disappointing second-quarter results from key companies. The recent electric vehicle fire in Incheon and the poor performance of major secondary battery firms have further solidified these bearish sentiments. As Samsung SDI and POSCO Future M's earnings fell short of expectations, individual investors have started to heavily buy the 'RISE Secondary Battery TOP10 Inverse (Synthetic)' ETF while selling the 'KODEX Secondary Battery Industry' ETF. Meanwhile, foreign and institutional investors are seizing this opportunity for bargain purchases. Foreign investors have net purchased 118.9 billion won in LG Energy Solution and 115.1 billion won in POSCO Holdings. Institutional investors have also bought 63 billion won in POSCO Future M and 54.8 billion won in LG Energy Solution. Experts warn against short-term rebounds in solid-state battery stocks, but overall, investor sentiment remains wary.
