IBK Asset Management Rebrands ETF Line; Hanwha AM Strengthens Active ETF Team

IBK Asset Management announced it will rebrand its ETF products from the 'ITF' label to the more recognizable 'IBK' name. This move is designed to leverage the trust and brand recognition associated with IBK Financial Group, applying the new brand to both existing and future ETF offerings. The company aims to increase investor accessibility and communication, pledging to continue launching diverse ETF products every month. Currently, IBK Asset Management manages four ETFs with aggregate AUM of around 320 billion KRW, with recent emphasis on themes like semiconductors and retirement-focused solutions.
Meanwhile, Hanwha Asset Management has hired Sujin Lee, a recognized expert in ETF product development, to lead its active ETF strategy team. Hanwha expects this appointment to significantly strengthen its competitiveness and capacity in the fast-growing active ETF market. In contrast, KB Asset Management is grappling with concerns over organizational stability following the departure of key personnel. Overall, the Korean ETF market is seeing both aggressive branding initiatives and a talent acquisition race among leading managers, signaling an evolving competitive landscape.
