Samsung Asset Management Launches KODEX US Money Market Active ETF
Samsung Asset Management has launched the ‘KODEX US Money Market Active ETF,’ the first of its kind in Korea that invests in ultra-short-term US safe assets and the dollar. This ETF aims to offer interest rates higher than the US benchmark rate while providing monthly dividends to underscore continuous returns for investors. Notably, the price of the ETF is pegged against the USD/KRW exchange rate, making yield understanding intuitive for investors. The total expense ratio is set at a remarkable 0.05%, featuring a portfolio that includes US Treasuries with remaining maturities of 1 to 3 months and US special-purpose bonds, targeting an annual distribution rate of 4.7%. Investors can anticipate substantial returns, particularly appealing for those with a focus on dollar objectives or US bond investments to manage volatility. Additionally, Samsung Asset Management’s offering allows domestic investors to access the US MMF without incurring additional investment costs, sparking considerable interest in the market. Similar investment products are anticipated to follow, catering to the growing demand.
