September ETF Market Overview
September ETF Market Overview
In September, domestic stock market saw individual investors selling leveraged ETFs heavily while buying inverse ETFs in anticipation of index declines. The most sold were 'KODEX KOSDAQ150 Leverage' and 'KODEX Leverage', whereas 'KODEX 200 Futures Inverse 2X' saw the highest buying interest. In contrast, a significant trend was the movement of funds toward safe haven asset ETFs like the U.S. S&P 500 and gold. Gold-related ETFs particularly garnered attention as the preference for safe assets grew throughout September. Quantum computing stood out as a prominent theme in the ETF market during September. The SOL U.S. Quantum Computing TOP10 ETF led the market with a remarkable 40.18% return. Despite variance in performance depending on the weighting of Rigetti Computing, quantum computing ETFs generally showed high returns. Additionally, the RISE AI Semiconductor TOP10 ETF was notable with a 30.36% return, making it stand out among semiconductor ETFs. GOLD ETFs reflected a 'Kimchi Premium' phenomenon by outperforming international gold prices. Hana Financial Group is enhancing its non-banking sectors by fully incorporating its subsidiary, Hana Asset Management. This strategy is seen as a response to the rapid growth of the retirement pension and ETF markets. Hana Asset Management has cleared its equity relations with UBS, increasing its asset management capabilities substantially in retirement pensions and ETF holdings. The goal is to boost the proportion of in-house products within Hana Bank to 70% and expand its influence in the burgeoning markets.
