Growth of South Korea's ETF Market and Hanwha Asset Management's New Fund

South Korea's ETF market has expanded to a size of 374 trillion won, with Samsung Asset Management regaining a dominant 40% market share. The increase in indices has driven investments into equity ETFs, boosting Samsung Asset's net assets to over 149 trillion won. Notably, the 'KODEX KOSDAQ150' ETF has exhibited significant growth. This market expansion has been largely facilitated by government policies aimed at revitalizing the stock market.
Meanwhile, Hanwha Asset Management plans to launch a new fund called the Hanwha Dynamic Focus Incremental Achiever (EMP Target Transition) Fund. This fund is designed to invest half of its capital in domestic-listed thematic ETFs and the other half in short-term bond ETFs. Once the target return of 7% is achieved, the fund will transition its portfolio to focus on short-term bond ETFs, thereby minimizing volatility and providing stable returns to investors. The major investment themes will include leading Korean indices, semiconductors, AI, electric power, and K-defense, utilizing a 'bottom-up' decision-making approach.
