Launch of ETF Focused on AI and Semiconductor Industry and Thematic ETFs Garner Attention During Lunar New Year
Korea Investment Management has launched the 'ACE Global Semiconductor TOP4 Plus ETF', which focuses on investing in key companies in the AI and semiconductor industries. This ETF invests in four main sectors: system semiconductors, memory semiconductors, foundries, and semiconductor equipment, achieving a strong performance with a return of 494.43% since its launch. Its current total net assets amount to 977.6 billion won, and the manager aims for sustained growth in the semiconductor industry over the long term.
As the Lunar New Year approaches, various thematic ETFs are drawing investors' attention. A particularly significant inflow of funds is directed towards AI semiconductor-related ETFs, while industries like shipbuilding, nuclear power, and defense receive interest due to new orders and policy changes. However, given the high volatility of themes, concerned investors are opting for defensive investments through group stock ETFs or financial and high-dividend ETFs. Thematic ETFs offer the advantage of tracking trends with minimal investment but require an assessment of structural growth potential and careful management of allocations and staggered purchases to respond to rapidly changing market conditions.
