Success Strategies of Active ETFs Focusing on Bio and Growth Themes
Mirae Asset Management is proceeding with the listing of a new active ETF investing in bio stocks on the Korea Exchange. This move is influenced by the successful returns of existing bio active ETFs from competitor firms. For instance, KB Asset Management's RISE BioTOP10 Active has demonstrated superior performance compared to the TIGER BioTOP10. This success arises from the active ETF characteristic of fund managers selectively picking stocks and adjusting their weights in response to market volatility.
Active ETFs are adapting to market changes through theme rotation strategies. In particular, 'SOL Korea Mega Tech Active' has recorded a net asset of KRW 5,755 billion, with a year-to-date return of 25.53%, outpacing the KOSPI and KOSDAQ indices. This ETF focuses its investments on growth themes such as artificial intelligence, bio, and secondary batteries, maintaining a high performance.
Shinhan Asset Management is also expecting performance through various growth themes. With a positive outlook on semiconductor and power infrastructure themes, it has identified bio, secondary batteries, and aerospace as promising themes, driving its investment strategy. The adaptive investment approach to the changing rotation market phase in the domestic stock market is gaining attention from investors, and such strategies are expected to receive even more interest in the future.
