Expectations Rise as KOSDAQ Active ETFs Launch
The recent launch of active ETFs based on the KOSDAQ index is creating a buzz among investors. Timefolio Asset Management and Samsung Active Asset Management have introduced the first KOSDAQ active ETFs in the domestic market, which is expected to signify a more discerning approach to investment in the KOSDAQ sector and spotlight fundamentally strong stocks. Hanwha Asset Management is also set to launch a similar ETF soon.
The bio and semiconductor sectors are anticipated to benefit from these ETFs, as investors look to adjust their portfolios between growth and value stocks. Specifically, Samsung Active Asset Management plans to allocate its holdings in a 7:3 ratio in favor of growth stocks, indicating a focus on promising companies. This move is interpreted as a positive signal for the market.
Furthermore, the Korea Exchange is listing new ETF products on the securities market, with each unit priced at 10,000 KRW to enhance accessibility. The introduction of KOSDAQ active ETFs is expected to increase liquidity in the KOSDAQ market and create more investment opportunities. Such developments will broaden the range of investment strategies and options available in the financial sector.
