Launch of High-Yield Deposit Products and Five New Space & Semiconductor ETFs in Korea

Financial institutions in Korea are intensifying competition in deposit products, as Saemaeul Geumgo launches a new savings account 'MG Hope-sharing Geolmma Savings' offering up to 12% interest rate depending on the number of children in the household. Hana Bank introduced 'Hana Moim Tongjang', a parking account ideal for short-term liquidity management, with a 2.5% interest rate, and Acuon Savings Bank rolled out a 'Living Expense Account' that protects deposited funds from seizure, expanding consumer choices in financial management.
Additionally, on the 14th, Korea Exchange will list five new Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs) focusing on the space and semiconductor industries. These ETFs include passive products from Mirae Asset Global Investments and Hana Asset Management, as well as active ETFs from Korea Investment Management and Samsung Active Asset Management. The funds will invest in companies associated with space exploration and the semiconductor sector in both US and domestic markets, with semiconductor ETFs particularly concentrating on companies with the highest revenues. The launch of these innovative deposit products and ETFs is expected to offer investors a wider range of options for saving and asset allocation, further driving innovation in the Korean financial market.
