Korean Aerospace ETFs: Name Change, Record Performance, and Social Contribution Initiatives

Hanwha Asset Management has announced that it will change the name of its 'PLUS Aerospace & UAM' ETF to 'PLUS Aerospace.' This ETF focuses on investing in Korean companies within the aerospace value chain, particularly those expected to benefit from partnerships with SpaceX. The fund has achieved remarkable performances, posting 130.8% returns over the past six months and 138.7% over the past year. Following a recent rebalancing, Sphere and Contech have been newly included in its portfolio, with an emphasis on companies expanding overseas orders based on advanced technologies.
Meanwhile, Hana Asset Management signed an agreement to donate KRW 100 million—sourced from the management fees of its '1Q US Aerospace Tech ETF'—to the Department of Aerospace Engineering at KAIST. This initiative aims to support research and human resource development in the aerospace sector, reflecting the ETF’s broader role beyond financial returns. Recently, the ETF’s net assets surpassed KRW 700 billion, highlighting its growing appeal among domestic investors. Collectively, these moves illustrate the expanding role of aerospace ETFs in Korea, combining strong investment performance with contributions to industry development and social responsibility.
