Emerging Trends in ETF Market and Investment Strategies
Choi Dong-geun, team leader at NH Amundi Asset Management, highlighted that physical AI is emerging as a global megatrend, particularly driven by humanoids and robotics. He pointed out that companies like Lumentum Holdings and Talen Energy are gaining attention due to the AI boom. The 'HANARO Global Physical AI Active' ETF, under his management, has recorded a 54.66% return since going public, reflecting the positive impact of this trend.
Choi also noted that the intensifying technological supremacy competition between the U.S. and China could allow Korean robotics companies to gain secondary benefits. This scenario presents new opportunities for South Korean robotics and AI companies, suggesting that it is a crucial time for them to strengthen their global market competitiveness.
Geum Jeong-seop, head of the ETF Business Division at Hanwha Asset Management, emphasized the growing importance of dividend ETFs as South Korea enters an aging society. The tax-saving benefits and stable returns of domestic dividend ETFs are attracting investors.
