Performance Analysis of Semiconductor and Humanoid AI Themed ETFs
Recently, semiconductor-themed Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) have been performing well, drawing significant attention. Notably, the 'ACE AI Semiconductor Focus' ETF recorded a remarkable 27.1% return in the past month. This success was driven by the strong performance of large domestic semiconductor stocks and expectations for China's technological independence. In contrast, U.S. semiconductor ETFs showed poor performance, struggling due to weak stock prices of major holdings. Investors are turning their attention to humanoid and physical AI-related ETFs amid growing fatigue over semiconductors. At CES 2026, humanoids gained attention, leading to significant net purchases of related ETFs. According to DS Investment Securities, this sector has potential for medium-term market expansion, albeit remains in its early stages. Hanwha Asset Management has identified 'physical AI' technology as a promising investment opportunity, offering the 'PLUS Global Humanoid Robot Active' and 'PLUS U.S. Robotaxi' ETFs. In particular, at the CES event, companies like NVIDIA and Hyundai were prominent, emphasizing physical AI as a main theme. Both ETFs invest in humanoid robots and autonomous driving companies, respectively, and have recently recorded high returns with their active management strategies.
