Trends in the Domestic ETF Market: The Rise of Nuclear and Precious Metals Themes

This year, nuclear-related Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs) have gained significant attention in the domestic stock market. Notably, the 'TIGER Korea Nuclear Power' ETF has recorded a staggering 70% increase, aided by favorable factors such as securing nuclear plant contracts in the Czech Republic. This upward momentum was also supported by a sharp rise in Hyundai Engineering & Construction's stock price. Experts, however, advise that investors remain cautious and develop strategies to address market volatility.
Meanwhile, in the domestic ETF market, precious metals-related products are experiencing a notable rise driven by the preference for safe-haven assets. The KODEX Silver Futures ETF stood out with a 10.21% increase, highlighting the strength of the precious metals theme, particularly in gold and silver-linked ETFs. This performance is attributed to a weaker dollar and rising gold prices resulting from uncertainties regarding US tariffs. Conversely, high-value themes such as AI and cloud computing are on a downward trend, requiring vigilance from investors.
